BTW my friend Kristi and I were at dinner the other day and I complimented her scarf and she told me she made it herself. And I was all, "Oh, you knit! I had a roommate that knitted! She made a negligee and lots of titties!"
Then she was like, "Um, this is crochet, DUH. I should teach you, it's easier than knitting."
So I might learn to crochet even though I can't tell the difference between knit and crochet. And then I showed Kristi this post from my cell phone and she was all, "Damn, she's really good. Fuck. Knitters, man. I don't know how they do it."
Are knitters vs crocheters like The Crips vs The Bloods? Are you guys like the gangs in West Side Story? Tell me MORE.
It's just that knitting is a bit more practical than crocheting because knit stitches are naturally stretchier (whereas crochet stitches are sturdier) which makes it better suited for clothing (like sweaters). Crochet's only really good for non-accessory clothing when you make it lacy.

Also, right now, I am imagining the choreography of West Side Story with knitting needles and crochet hooks instead of knives. Holy fuck.
